Customer service at PayPal is practically non-existent!
Customer service at Paypal (PayPal Holdings, Inc. PYPL) is practically non-existent. I recently had two unauthorized transactions, a transfer to my bank account and a check request, each for $15, both on 7/23/15. They immediately reversed the bank transfer but still have not refunded the check.
I immediately opened a case in the Resolution Center and never got a response, although they reversed the bank transfer. They still have not refunded the amount of the check.
You can’t get anyone on the phone. They will put you on hold forever with no indication of how much longer you might have to wait. Eventually you will give up waiting because your precious life is ticking away and it’s not worth losing any more of it.
They do not offer chat support.
Email support is answered by morons who clearly don’t even look into the facts. I sent an email specifically stating the transaction number for the check (which I cannot use because it is made payable to a business name that I no longer have an account for – because PayPal won’t let you change the business name on an account). The email was answered by a moron who suggested that perhaps I was referring to the transaction that was reversed.
NO YOU IDIOT! I’M REFERRING TO THE TRANSACTION THAT I PROVIDED A TRANSACTION NUMBER FOR. THE CHECK!
She then went on to say “Right now, I believe that the reason why your not seeing that amount is because there was another Withdrawal of funds that was initiated by July 25, 2015 for $350.”
NO MORON. THAT IS A COMPLETELY SEPARATE TRANSACTION THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS. ARE YOU REALLY SUGGESTING THAT THE REASON I DON’T SEE MY REFUND IS BECAUSE I MADE A WITHDRAWAL?
I did get a previous email from them stating that there was an unauthorized login to my account from somewhere in the U.S. (great, my account was hacked), but I can’t get them to refund my money.
Believe me, it’s not the amount of money. I’m lucky that it’s only $15. It’s the fact that these people handle other people’s money and there doesn’t seem to be any accountability or any acceptable form of customer service.
DON’T TRUST THEM WITH YOUR MONEY! LUCKY FOR ME IT’S ONLY $15!!
